Laying the field

A new strategy to me this one, but one that I like the idea of it as it has a low downside and a very positive up side. I don't expect it to work every time but 1 in 10 should at least break even.

I've kept the selection criteria petty simple.

  1. Sprint races of 5, 6 or 7f only
  2. 8 or more runners
  3. Handicaps only
  4. No clear (odds on) favourite

I'll lay the field at an odd's on level up to my per trade maximum liability.

Today's card a Southwell throws up 3 likely candidates for a lay the field trade.

3.30 - 7f Hcap - Won
4.00 - 6f Hcap - Won
4.30 - 6f Hcap - Lost

Need to get 2 matched to secure a profit.  Let's hope the handicappers have got it right and we have some close races.
