Licking my wounds a little for yesterdays football trades, I picked the right matches and the right trades just not together! With hindsight (a wonderful thing) Croatia v Turkey would have been a brilliant 0-0 goal line trade, Portugal v Bosnia, laying under 4.5 Goals, Ireland v Estonia trading the 2-1 score line.
Whilst I lost money, I was very happy with the way I handled the trades. I showed good discipline in playing insurance trades (which meant that my worst red was 10% of my total trade) and I kept my head when things went against me, either goals or lack of them! I didn't chase losses in running but instead took my time to find alternative trades which would have allowed me to green up with out increasing my liability beyond my maximum acceptable limit.
They'll be days when everything goes my way and I'll do well to remember to the lessons learned here.
In terms of match selection it appears that a high scoring first leg does not equate to a high scoring second leg, nor does a 0-0 draw first leg equate to a tight second leg. Something to bear in mind for trades on cup competitions in the future.
On to my plan for today:
Pre Match Trading - Paper trade some fixtures for the premiership at the weekend
Horses - Similar to yesterday with a small multiple and a few singles
Darts - The games are not as tight as yesterday so only 1 trading opportunity at the moment Stompe v Phillips at 21:00
Results - Today is a good day to work on this with not a lot of trades to focus on
Pre Race Trading - Some research to be done. picked 2 steamers out of 2 but only paper traded
